Crusaders are a fine blend of physical strength and faith-driven magic prowess, making them a versatile class. They are capable of melee combat with a spear or a sword and shield, of playing a supportive role in parties with beneficial magic skills, and of sacrificing their health to wield powerful holy magic. Knowing this, they can be built more like a mage than a warrior, or a classic favorite is to play the crusader like a tank. What makes this class so popular is the versatility, it's natural aim towards fighting the undead, and its centralization around having high VIT and defense.
Changing into a Crusader from a Swordman requires the player to complete a number of tasks:
Minimum Job level requirement: 40.
Need to have over 10,000 gear score (Job < 50)
5,000 gear score (Job 50)
After completing these tests, the player will be transformed into a Crusader. Most of this takes place inside of the Prontera Castle /navi prt_castle 251/75.

Increases Attack Speed while mounted on a Pecopeco. Mastering this skill raises the Attack Speed so that the penalty while mounted on a Pecopeco is fully nullified.

Cancels various abnormal statuses such as Silence, Chaos or Blind from target.

Reduces damage taken from long ranged physical attacks at the cost of decreasing ASPD and Movement Speed for the skill's duration, but decreases the ASPD penalty according to the skill's level. Casting this skill again cancels the Defender status. Requires Shield.

Increases damage against Demon and Undead monsters. Character level affects damage bonus. Damage increased by this skill is added after final damage is calculated.

Passive
Summons a cross of holy light on the ground around the caster that will damage enemies that come into contact with it. Grand Cross will cause the Blind effect on Undead and Demon monsters aside from Boss monsters. The chance of inflicting Blind is reduced by the target's immunity. Damage is affected by your ATK and MATK and the caster consumes 20% the HP. The Casting Time can not be canceled.

Offensive
Activates Auto Guard status which has a chance of blocking long and short range physical attacks for the skill's duration. When this skill blocks an attack, the caster is immobilized for 0.3 seconds but this time can be reduced by increasing the skill's level. Casting this skill again cancels Auto Guard status. Requires Shield.

Restores target's HP. Skill level, caster's Base Level and total INT affect the amount of HP restored. Weapon refine level and MATK also affect the amount of HP restored.

Attacks an enemy with a double hit of Holy elemental physical attack with a chance of causing the Blind status. The chance of inflicting Blind status is reduced by the target's immunity. Increases damage when using Two-Handed Weapons.

Passive
Temporarily increases party member's resistance to Demon and Holy elemental monsters. It cannot be used on yourself and other Crusader classes.

Supportive
Protects a party member by receiving all damage intended for the targeted ally. Devotion only works when level difference between caster and party member is less than 10. The skill's effect is canceled when the party member moves out of the skill's range or dies. Cannot be used on other Crusader classes.

Attacks an enemy from a distance by throwing a Shield. The Shield's weight and refine level affects the amount of damage that is inflicted. Requires Shield.

Offensive
Reflects a certain amount of damage back to the enemy after they inflict damage with melee physical attack for 5 minutes. Unequipping the Shield removes the effect. Requires Shield.

Supportive
Smashes a Shield into an enemy, pushing it a few cells backward with a chance of causing Stun status. The chance of inflicting Stun status is reduced by the target's immunity. Requires Shield.

Offensive
Increases Spear class weapon damage. When riding a Pecopeco, Dragon or Gryphon, it will add bonus damage by 1 per skill level.

Passive
Increases Attack Speed when using Spear weapons for skill duration. If you exchange it with a non-Spear class weapon, the effect is removed.

Supportive
Shrink must be used together with the Auto Guard skill in order to have any effect. When an enemy attacks and triggers the Guard effect, this skill has a 50% chance to inflict Stun against that enemy. Shrink's duration a 15 minute and is canceled if it's casted again.

This table shows the various bonus stats that a character can receive as they level up. Each row represents a specific level, and the corresponding bonus stat that is granted at that level. For example, at level 1, the character will receive 1 point in the Luk stat, and at level 1, the character will receive 1 point in the Luk stat. The bonus stats that are granted at each level can vary, and in this case, the character can receive points in Vitality, Strength, Dexterity, Agility, and Luck stats at different levels.
