Supporting with a Bard or Dancer requires a different approach than other classes. Music-based buffs are mostly percentual values, as opposed to the absolute values of Priest buffs, and require careful strategy and positioning, but playing as an Archer should already provide some experience in this respect. Despite their supportive role, one should not forget that Dancers are also capable of dealing good quantities of damage, one of their main advantages over Huntresses is their immense SP pool which allows them to continually use Double Strafe instead of normal attacks, ensuring decent damage output.
To understand how to build a Bard or Dancer, knowledge of all their skills is needed. Dancer and Bard skills are, in comparison to other classes, very stat dependent. In general, there are 2 types of skills for both a Dancer and a Bard; skills which can be sung or danced without a partner of the opposite gender and those where the player needs another Bard or Dancer respectively.
As a Dancer, only whips, daggers and bows are available for weapons, whereas Bards can use instruments instead of whips.
When armed with a Whip: Bow skills (Double Strafe, Arrow Shower, Arrow Repel) cannot be used Performance Skills, as well as Amp and Encore are available Whip skills (Slinging Arrow, Arrow Vulcan) can be used Whip damage depends on the Dancer's dex, NOT str. Just like it does for bows Unbarring Octave, Dazzler, Pang Voice and Charming Wink are usable regardless of weapons.

Changing into a Dancer from an Archer requires the player to complete a number of tasks:
Minimum Job level requirement: 40.
If Job level is between 40 to 49, >10,000 gear score required.
If Job level is 50, 5,000 gear score required.
After completing these tests, the player will be transformed into a Dancer. This takes place in Comodo.

Solo Skills
Continuously reduces the SP of enemies within Ugly Dance's range. This skill is only available in PVP/Siege Mode. Requires Whip.

Increases Whip class weapon damage. While the MaxSP bonus always applies, the ATK and Critical bonus only when a Whip class weapon is equipped.

Passive
Inflicts the Stun status to enemies within the caster's view with a low chance of also causing the Stun status to party members.

Recasts the previous Song, Dance or Ensemble skill that was performed. Skills cast by Encore consume only half of the required SP. Encore will fail if the last Song, Dance or Ensemble is not available.

Reduces Attack Speed and Movement Speed of all enemies that are within this skill's range for 60 seconds. Please Don't Forget Me will also cancel any statuses that increases Movement and Attack Speed for skill's duration. It does not stack with other Dance skills. This skill is only available in PVP/Siege Mode. Requires Whip.

Ensemble Skills
Ensemble skills can only be performed when a Bard and Dancer are in the same party and standing beside each other. When an Ensemble skill is performed by a Bard and Dancer, the lower level of Acoustic Rhythm is performed. (i.e. when a Bard that has learned Acoustic Rhythm Lv.5 performs the skill with a Dancer that has only learned Acoustic Rhythm Lv.3, the Bard and Dancer will perform Acoutic Rhythm Lv.3)
Endows resistance to Fire, Water, Earth and Wind element as well as tolerance to Blind, Frozen, Petrified, Stun, Curse, Sleep and Silence status for 180 seconds. An Ensemble skill can only be activated when the party's Bard/Dancer is within 9x9 cells. You'll be unable to use skills, recieve reduced Movement Speed and Attack Speed for 10 seconds. Requires Musical Instrument or Whip.

This table shows the various bonus stats that a character can receive as they level up. Each row represents a specific level, and the corresponding bonus stat that is granted at that level. For example, at level 1, the character will receive 1 point in the Luk stat, and at level 2, the character will receive 1 point in the Agi stat. The bonus stats that are granted at each level can vary, and in this case, the character can receive points in Vitality, Strength, Dexterity, Agility, and Luck stats at different levels.
