Magicians are naturally imbued with the powers of the elements within their souls. Though still learning to hone these powers, they use their knowledge and intelligence of these elements to significantly impact the battlefield. Growing up west of the mystical Mt. Mjolnir, in Geffen, they are able to see magic all around them and use this to their advantage.
Magicians rely on their magic skills as their main source of damage. They use their knowledge of the monster's element to know what elemental magic skill to use to deal more damage to monsters.
Once you are Job Level 10, go to the Mage Guild in northwest Geffen.
1. The mage job quest NPC is located in Geffen in the northwest building (geffen 63/177).
2. Once inside, talk to the girl by the blackboard. She will tell you what solution number you need. The solution number you get determines what items you need and what you need to input in to the mixing machine. You can look up the ingredients you need at the book shelf located inside of the same room.
To navigate, players can enter /navi geffen 63/177 in the chat to be guided to the location.
Note: The catalyst item isn't needed, it is just a selection from the mixing machine list.
[1]Milk can be obtained in Prontera at the Milk Merchant (prontera 76/133) for 25z.
[2]The Payon Solution is found in the Payon Archer Village (the Archer Village is accessible through the top right portal of Payon). The NPC, named Dollshoi, is located at (pay_arche 123/02).
[3]The Morroc Solution is found in the Pyramids map located in the north west corner of Morroc. The NPC, named Ponka-Hontas can be found at (88/147).
3. After obtaining all of the ingredients, mix them in the the mixing machine back at the Mage Guild. Make sure to double check the ingredients, catalyst, and mixing code. If a mistake is made at this time, all of the items will have to be gathered again.
4. Once the Unknown Solution is made talk to the main quest NPC again. If you give her the correct solution, she will change your job to Magician.
Summons bolts of frigid ice to strike at an enemy which inflicts 100% MATK Water elemental magic damage per Hit.

Summons a fire ball to damage a target and all enemies within 5x5 cells area with Fire elemental magical damage. Center area (3x3) and Edge area (5x5) receive different damage.

Attacks a target with arrow made of fire inflicting 100% MATK Fire elemental magic damage per Hit.

Summons a pillar of flame on a targeted spot that will deal Fire elemental magic damage to enemies that come into contact with it. If no one steps on it for 30 seconds, it will disappear. You can place up to 5 Fire Pillars at once and consumes 1 Blue Gemstone with level 6 and above. Also it can't be placed if there is an enemy standing on that cell already.

Inflicts Water magic damage on a target, which has a chance to inflict Freezing status. The Freezing chance and duration are affected by target's Level, MDEF and LUK stats.

Restores SP every 10 seconds while idle. MaxSP affects how much SP is restored by this skill.

Drops lightning on target inflicting 100% MATK Wind elemental magic damage per Hit.

Uses telekinesis power to attack a target and 3x3 cells around it with Ghost elemental magic. The damage portion is divided among the targets.

Creates a magic barrier on a targeted spot that will block certain number of physical melee attacks and damage. The barrier will disappear after a period of time. Consumes 1 Blue Gemstone.

Uses 10 SP to summon a fire ball that for 10 seconds will detect hidden characters in 7x7 AoE around the caster.

Summons holy spirit to inflict 100% MATK Ghost elemental magical damage per Hit on a target. This skill inflicts additional damage against Undead monsters.

Inflicts Stone Curse to a target. Consumes 1 Red Gemstone. From level 6, Red Gemstone is consumed only when the skill is successfull. Stone Curse chance and duration are affected by target's Level, MDEF and LUK stats.

The table above shows the different bonus stats a character gains at different levels. Each row represents a different level, and the columns show the specific bonus stat gained at that level. The bonus stats include Int (Intelligence), Dex (Dexterity), Luk (Luck), and Agi (Agility). For example, at Level 2, the character gains 1 point in Int. At Level 6, the character gains 1 point in Dex, and so on.
